Affinity Groups at Douglass
Douglass is committed to fostering connections between students. Intentional peer to peer and staff to peer mentoring initiatives help to bring students together from similar experiences to provide one another advice and support. Affinity Groups are open to all students.

The Black community at Douglass has a rich and amazing history. From the first African American female student enrolling in 1934, Julia Baxter Bates, to the inception of the Africana Community with the Global Village, and now current student organizations and student leaders dedicated to advocating and celebrating the Black community at Douglass. This trajectory has been an important journey for students of the Black diaspora, including Black American, African, and Caribbean cultures.

This may include joining the workforce, taking a gap year(s) for religious endeavors or self-discovery, caring for personal health or family, etc. Douglass welcomes all students, regardless of the path taken before or after high school, and has a stead and growing community of adult students!
