Students Return to In-Person Instruction

After a year and a half of remote instruction due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students across the University have returned to campus for in-person courses. Douglass is moving forward with in-person instruction with the safety of the college community at the forefront of its strategy. Throughout the fall 2021 semester, Douglass will offer students a hybrid schedule of both in-person and remote opportunities. At all in-person events, students and staff will adhere to Rutgers guidelines surrounding Covid-19 safety. You can find more about the mandatory University policies on masks, vaccinations, and more here.

Both students and staff are looking forward to returning to in-person instruction and events. The Douglass Welcoming Ambassadors, a student leadership organization that helps incoming students adapt to Douglass, led the first of these events alongside Douglass staff at the 2021 Welcome Day festivities. The group knows the importance of empowering students to re-adjust to the in-person environment.

“Online programs at Douglass were great, but The Douglass Welcoming Ambassadors is a group that is seeking to help integrate students back into the Douglass community after being online,” Isabella Vega DRC’23 said on behalf of the group. “Students have lost so much and we hope we can welcome them back to campus.”

Douglass staff are also available as resources for all students as they adapt back to campus life. Students can click here to reach out to a staff mentor. The College is happy to welcome students back to campus and is excited to continue transformative, experiential learning opportunities that empower Douglass students to thrive.
