Scholarships Make the Difference
From the moment students become part of Douglass, they are empowered to make their mark on the world. Douglass offers an advantage that’s second-to-none in preparing its students to be tomorrow’s leaders: it is the only women’s college in the nation situated within a comprehensive public research university. The College’s unique position allows our students endless opportunities.
With more than 80 percent of students qualifying for financial aid, scholarship support is vitally important to ensure that talented Douglass students have the resources necessary to achieve their academic goals and immerse themselves in the Douglass experience. Your support of Douglass scholarships helps the College to recruit and retain successful future leaders and offer them opportunities for intensive global and professional engagement during their college careers.
For some Douglass women, scholarships ensure they are able to remain in college and complete their education. For others, including some who have never traveled outside their hometown before, scholarships offer an opportunity to experience a global education. Additionally, Douglass students receive scholarship support to take advantage of research opportunities that would have been financially out of reach without scholarship funding.
From the summer through the fall semester, Douglass awards scholarships for the following academic year. Study abroad and opportunity grants are awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year. If you have established a named or endowed scholarship, the advancement office is working to make sure you hear from your student recipient. If you have questions about the process, please reach out—my contact information is below.
By giving to Douglass you are directly supporting students. For more information about giving directly to Douglass student scholarships—including named or endowed scholarship gifts—please contact me at any time. Please note that the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College (AADC) does not raise money for Douglass students and programs.
