New Student Orientation

New Student Move-In for NEW STUDENTS ONLY (includes new transfer students) is on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at your assigned residence hall. Move-in for continuing students is on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Following move-in, there is a 2-day Welcome Days event for new Douglass students (residential and commuters).

Fall Orientation Days (August 31-September 1)

Welcome to the Douglass family! Make Douglass feel more like your “home away from home” by joining us for Douglass Convocation & Fall Orientation, designed by students for students. This 2-day event (following move-in) includes a convocation ceremony for you and your family, which formally welcomes you to the community, academic planning sessions, new student bingo and several other fun activities! Meet your peer advisers and resident assistants while participating in special programming for residential, commuting and non-traditional students.

Commuters will be welcomed to Douglass mid-day (1p.m.) on the first day of Orientation in the Karmazin Lounge in the Ludwig Living-Learning Center (9 Suydam Street). At special sessions for commuters, you'll have a chance to meet your commuter Peer Academic Leader, Orientation committee members and each other! You'll join the rest of our on-campus students at the Convocation Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in Voorhees Chapel and for the fun Fall Welcome Days events just for new students.

Parents/Family/Friends/Loved Ones

As part of the Douglass family, you're invited to join us on Thursday, August 31, 2017 for our Convocation Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in Voorhees Chapel followed by a Parent & Family Welcome Session from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in the Ludwig Living-Learning Center (9 Suydam Street). Find out how Douglass parents fit into their students' lives at college. Meet key campus administrators from Douglass Residential College, Residence Life, Rutgers University Police Department and the Dean of Students.

Fall Orientation is for ALL new students (transfer, residential, commuters) and there is no registration required. Please note we do not provide overnight accommodations for commuters during Welcome Days.

*Please note you will receive an Orientation booklet on August 31st with the final schedule, locations and times of all Orientation events.
