Knowledge and Power classes form tight-knit bonds as they discuss big ideas, share lived experiences, and empower each other to succeed.
This required course at Douglass introduces you to foundational concepts in understanding the status of women, literature, and leadership. Participate in critical conversations, chart out a 4 year academic plan, meet with powerful feminist leaders from around the world, and learn to write and present academic research. Discuss systems of power, prepare for the diverse global workforce, and connect to Douglass programs and resources.

Build skills you'll use throughout College. Practice close-reading, analyzing theory, college-level writing, and critical thinking–all while in a supportive classroom setting.
Students who complete Knowledge and Power are eligible for Douglass' Mentoring and Leadership Practicum which pairs them with a section of Knowledge and Power for paid peer mentoring.
