STEM Signature Events

The Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in STEM hosts a variety of events and workshops that assist undergraduate women in STEM with their academic, career/professional, and personal development. Some of our upcoming signature events include:

October -  Annual STEM Lecture:

  • This annual event brings in nationally recognized thought leaders of Women in STEM to share the latest thinking on STEM issues, as well as honoring a Rutgers faculty member and Douglass Alumnae with the Advancement of Women in STEM recognition.

October - RU Research Ready?:

  • An engaging and interactive session for DRC women in STEM to learn about numerous scientific research opportunities and programs at Douglass, Rutgers and beyond.

February - HackHERS:

  • An annual women-centric hackathon hosted by the Douglass Project and Rutgers Women in Computer Science where over 400 students from colleges throughout the U.S. come together for 24 hours to turn their ideas into reality. Students come together in learning, planning, and developing projects– ranging from web applications to hardware hacks–with the ultimate goal of fostering growth and productivity among women who want to code. 

March - Annual STEM Networking Night:

  • This annual event brings together Douglass students, industry professionals, faculty, and alumnae with the goal of providing an opportunity for students to practice their networking skills while making academic or professional connections.
