Lola Ninonuevo DC’91 Named 105th Douglass Spring Convocation Speaker
Douglass is excited to announce that Lola Ninonuevo DC’91, Chief Operating Officer of EMEA Markets and International at Wells Fargo & Company will be the 105th Spring Convocation Speaker!
Lola Ninonuevo is the Chief Operating Officer (COO’), EMEA Markets and International with management oversight for APAC and EMEA operations including regulatory responsibility for Wells Fargo’s UK entities. She is a member of the International Operating Committee and various legal entity committees.
In her role as EMEA Markets COO, Lola partners closely with Global Markets leadership to translate strategy into execution, provide business management support, and risk and controls management. As International COO, she provides strategic leadership across COO teams in EMEA and APAC spanning Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Markets and Operations.
Since joining Wells Fargo in 2020, Lola has taken on increasingly senior leadership positions, including International Chief Operating Officer and CIB Chief Administrative Officer, during which she divided her time between London and New York. She has managed the line-of-business COO teams and shared services - such as client lifecycle management, data, and vendor management - while also leading global operational and compliance risk programs, including market conduct and supervision and financial crimes risk management.
Lola has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, with expertise in Corporate and Investment Banking. Before joining Wells Fargo, Lola spent two decades at HSBC, where she held senior leadership positions in both London and New York. Notably, she served as COO Global Banking and Markets Europe and as Head of Global Standards. In the latter role, she led a comprehensive financial crime compliance transformation that spanned more than sixty countries. Earlier in her career, Lola worked in trading operations at BlackRock Financial Management, where she played a key role in building the operations functions during the firm’s start-up phase. Through these and various COO roles in business and technology, she has developed expertise in large-scale transformation, operations, and technology. Lola's experience combines transformation experience with a solid foundation in risk management and operations.
Lola is based in London and holds a degree in Economics from Douglass College, Rutgers University with postgraduate studies in finance. She is a dual U.S.-UK citizen, fluent in Spanish, enjoys travelling and spending time with her two children.
