Through events such as the Diversity and Inclusion Taste of Douglass, community town halls, discussions and support groups and student engagement, the Douglass Diversity and Inclusion Program is able to work toward its mission of fostering a diverse and inclusive environment at Douglass that challenges opinions, and validates identities and communities.
The Program needs student leaders that are passionate about causes and initiatives that foster both Diversity and Inclusions, want to create a greater sense of community among Douglass students and are champions of open mindedness and diversity of thought, to accomplish its mission.
Douglass has Diversity and Inclusion Ambassadors that are responsible for facilitating group discussions, communicating ideas with the committee and messages to the student body, researching and identifying ways the Program can improve diversity on campus and upholding the values and goals of the Program.
Other commitments include:
- Serving for a complete academic year
- Participating in the planning of Diversity and Inclusion Committee events
- Attending events hosted by the committee (Maximum of 3 per semester)
Douglass Ambassadors will also benefit from the variety of trainings, events and Douglass experiences they will have access to, including an exclusive retreat.
The Douglass Diversity and Inclusion Program will open nominations for student representatives of the program during the summer. They will be tasked with helping accomplish the goals of creating an immersive, inclusive experience that celebrates the variety of cultures and experiences within Douglass.
