Douglass' 101st Spring Convocation

Congratulations Graduate! You are cordially invited to be recognized at Douglass' 101st Convocation to be held on May 14, 2022. Convocation is the graduation event specifically celebrating Douglass students! At the ceremony, you will be congratulated individually as your name is called to walk across the stage and receive your Douglass certificate. Family, friends, and fellow Rutgers students are invited to join this more intimate celebration of your achievements.
 
We will also wish farewell to our beloved Dean Jacquelyn Litt, who will be presiding in her last convocation as Dean of Douglass.
 
Light reception with DJ to follow immediately after convocation. No guest limit or tickets required. Registration is required to attend Convocation.

Douglass is excited to announce that New York Times bestselling author Roxane Gay will be the 2022 Spring Convocation speaker.

Roxane Gay’s writing appears in Best American Mystery Stories 2014, Best American Short Stories 2012, Best Sex Writing 2012, A Public Space, McSweeney’s, Tin House, Oxford American, American Short Fiction, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many others. She is a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times. She is the author of the books Ayiti, An Untamed State, the New York Times bestselling Bad Feminist, the nationally bestselling Difficult Women and the New York Times bestselling Hunger. She is also the author of World of Wakanda for Marvel. She has several books forthcoming and is also at work on television and film projects. She also has a newsletter, The Audacity.

“Douglass is honored to host Roxane Gay at this year’s Convocation,” said Dean Jacquelyn Litt. “Her ground-breaking writing on feminism and social justice has inspired learners and influenced readers across the globe. I know that she will offer the Class of 2022 a remarkably special send-off as they close their undergraduate chapter at Douglass.”
