Global Village Service Learning

As vital members of the Global Village, students stay engaged with the New Brunswick area community. Community service is a dynamic, immersive experience for Douglass women, and the Global Village partners with local organizations to create meaningful matches among n our volunteers and our local communities. For example, during the 2017-2018 academic year, students across all nine houses (Africana House, Business House, Creativity House, Human Rights House, Public Health House, Medicine House, Sexualities House, Spanish House) will engage with organizations that serve undocumented, immigrant, and refugee populations. In the past, the Human Rights House has participated in Annual March Against Domestic Violence, while other houses have engaged with our community partners through avenues that connect the House’s theme to the local organization.
