Centennial Speaker: Linda Stein “Holocaust Heroes, Fierce Females, Tapestries and Sculptures.”
Monday, October 16 2017 | 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM
Location: Kathleen W. Ludwig Global Village Living Learning Center
Join us for the ribbon cutting of “Hero 590 with Wonder Woman Shadow,” a powerful sculpture by Linda Stein, donated to Douglass by Gloria Steinem. Following that, Stein will deliver her lecture. A well-known artist-activist, educator, writer and Founding President of “Have Art: Will Travel Inc.” addresses issues of strength, power and justice in contemporary culture. She uses her art as the starting power to spark the audiences’ imagination to find that personal space to feel a most authentic self. Linda Stein lectures throughout the U.S. and internationally, at such places as the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations in Beijing, the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum, and the Miho Museum in Kyoto, Japan.
